Using a cross-sectional design, self-efficacy was assessed using the General Self-Efficacy Scale, and adherence was measured through self-reported medication adherence. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and medication adherence, highlighting that patients with higher self-efficacy are more likely to adhere to prescribed treatment regimens. Duration of hypertension emerged as a significant predictor of adherence. These findings underscore the importance of psychological factors in chronic disease management and suggest that interventions aimed at enhancing self-efficacy could improve adherence and health outcomes among hypertensive patients. Future research should explore longitudinal designs to establish causal relationships and consider cultural factors in intervention strategies.</p> Tiffani Tantina Lubis Copyright (c) 2024 Tiffani Tantina Lubis https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ajha/article/view/10207 Fri, 12 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Application of Warm Cinnamon Compresses to Reduce Pain Scale in Older Adults with Gout Arthritis in the Simpang Periuk Health Center Working Area 2023 https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ajha/article/view/8947 <p>Patients with Gout Arthritis often suffer from intense pain. While there's no one-size-fits-all cure for joint pain in older adults with this condition, there are various ways to ease the discomfort. Cinnamon compresses can help alleviate the symptoms. Compounds like eugenol and cinnamaldehyde in cinnamon create a warm feeling on the skin, calming inflammation by slowing down pain signals. This can help lower sensitivity to pain and make it easier to manage. The case study method used was a descriptive case study method, with two subjects of older ages with Gout Arthritis, using the format of assessment of family nursing care and evaluation of pain scales. Cinnamon compresses are carried out four times a week using 2 ml of cinnamon liquid, with 200cc of water, at a temperature of 40-450C, followed by compresses for 15-20 minutes using a washcloth. After applying cinnamon compresses four times a week, the study showed a decrease in pain intensity before and after the intervention was given to the two subjects. The Subject's pain intensity decreased from moderate to mild pain. The application of cinnamon compresses is effective in reducing the intensity of Gout Arthritis pain.</p> Bambang Soewito, Susmini Susmini, Sapondra Wijaya, Wahyu Dwi Ari Wibowo, Sri Martini Copyright (c) 2024 Wahyu Dwi Ari Wibowo, Susmini Susmini, Sapondra Wijaya, Wahyu Dwi Ari Wibowo, Sri Martini https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ajha/article/view/8947 Sat, 01 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 The Relationship between Nurses' Knowledge of Patient Identification and the Implementation of Patient Safety Identification in Inpatient Rooms at Ibu Fatmawati Soekarno Regional General Hospital, Surakarta https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ajha/article/view/10953 <p>Patient identification is a key component of the six patient safety goals and patient safety is a part of hospital accreditation standards.
