This study is an associative study with a quantitative approach. The data used are secondary data in the form of annual financial report data and GCG reports of Islamic commercial banks. Based on purposive sampling technique, the sample of this study consists of 12 Islamic commercial banks listed with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) that published annual financial reports and GCG reports continuously for 5 years from 2019-2023. The results of the study indicate that female board of directors have a negative effect on Non-Performing Financing (NPF). In addition, the study found that age of the BoD has no effect on NPF, while the level of education and competence of the SSB have a negative relationship but do not have a significant effect on NPF. This study implies that Islamic banks in Indonesia need to strengthen the role of the BoD as the highest level of management, especially the existence of female BoD in Islamic commercial banks regarding their function in managing problematic financing risks. Moreover, increasing SSB competence through certification will support SSB performance to maximize the implementation of effective sharia governance
Indria Puspitasari Lenap Baiq Krisnina Maharani Putri Elin Erlina Sasanti Copyright (c) 2024 Indria Puspitasari Lenap, Baiq Krisnina Maharani Putri, Elin Erlina Sasanti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-30 2024-12-30 3 6 735 748 10.55927/ijabm.v3i6.12364 Analysis of the Influence of Profitability, Agency Costs, and the Composition of the Independent Commissioners on Financial Distress https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ijabm/article/view/13072
This study aims to explain the influence of profitability, agency costs, and independent commissioners on financial distress in energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2021 period. The analysis method in this research begins with collecting secondary data from the financial reports of energy companies sampled using purposive sampling techniques, with a total of 61 companies. Hypothesis testing was conducted using panel data regression methods with the EViews 13 software. The results of the study show that profitability proxied by ROA does not have a significant effect on financial distress, while agency costs have a positive and significant effect on financial distress. On the other hand, independent commissioners do not have a significant influence on financial distress. The implication of this research is that an increase in agency costs can be an indicator of financial distress risk in companies, so companies and investors are expected to pay more attention to the management of agency costs to reduce the potential for bankruptcy
M Yusril Hasani Siti Atikah Indria Puspitasari Lenap Copyright (c) 2024 M Yusril Hasani, Siti Atikah, Indria Puspitasari Lenap https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-30 2024-12-30 3 6 817 826 10.55927/ijabm.v3i6.13072 The Role of Celebrity Endorsement and Brand Awareness in Forming Purchase Intention: The Influence of Brand Image as an Intervening Variable https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ijabm/article/view/12858
This study aims to explore the influence of celebrity endorsement and brand awareness on consumers' purchase intentions, with brand image acting as a mediating variable. The importance of this research stems from addressing a gap identified in existing literature. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing purposive sampling as the non-probability technique for participant selection. Data were collected through surveys using a 5-point Likert scale, and the final sample included 385 respondents. The data analysis was conducted with the SmartPLS (Partial Least Squares) method. The results indicate that both celebrity endorsement and brand awareness positively and significantly affect purchase intention. Additionally, both factors also positively influence brand image. However, brand image does not act as a mediator between celebrity endorsement, brand awareness, and purchase intention, contrary to the initial hypothesis
Chicha Fahriana Heri Pratikto Titis Shinta Dhewi Copyright (c) 2024 Chicha Fahriana, Heri Pratikto, Titis Shinta Dhewi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-30 2024-12-30 3 6 793 802 10.55927/ijabm.v3i6.12858 Effective Management Practices: A Comprehensive Approach to Organizational Success https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ijabm/article/view/12765
Effective management practices are critical in driving organizational performance and ensuring long-term success. Following the enactment of pivotal laws in 2004, local governments gained autonomy in managing financial resources, underscoring the importance of good governance to meet societal expectations. Despite a robust theoretical framework, public skepticism persists regarding local government performance, emphasizing the necessity for continuous improvement. This study synthesizes research from 2019 to 2024, highlighting both the enabling factors and challenges of integrating technology into governance practices. The findings reveal that effective technological integration can streamline processes and enhance accountability, ultimately fostering improved public service delivery. However, challenges related to infrastructure, training, and data privacy must be addressed. The review calls for a tailored, holistic approach that aligns governance principles with technological and organizational factors to optimize performance in Indonesia's public sector
Fadhilah Reni Oktavia Usep Syaipudin Copyright (c) 2024 Fadhilah, Reni Oktavia, Usep Syaipudin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-14 2024-12-14 3 6 721 734 10.55927/ijabm.v3i6.12653 Empirical Exploration of TPB Extention on Savings Adoption by Indonesian Gen-Z in Sharia Banking https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ijabm/article/view/13133
Indonesia operates a dual financial system comprising conventional and sharia finance. As the world's largest Muslim-majority country, the demand for sharia-compliant banking services is rising, driven by the prohibition of riba and the principles of Islamic finance. The establishment of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in 2021, following a merger of three state-owned sharia banks, underscores the nation's commitment to expanding sharia banking. This study investigates the influence of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and religiosity on saving intentions among Generation Z customers at BSI. Data were collected from 231 respondents using an online questionnaire with screening questions. The findings reveal that EWOM significantly impacts saving intentions, highlighting the importance of digital interactions in influencing consumer behavior. While religiosity was positively correlated with saving intentions, it was not a significant determinant, suggesting that practical factors such as service quality and trust may outweigh religious considerations. These results contribute to the literature on consumer behavior in sharia banking and provide actionable insights for developing targeted marketing strategies to enhance savings adoption among younger demographics in Indonesia. This research highlights the evolving dynamics of consumer behavior of GenZ in the context of sharia banking’s growing digital transformation
Ali Hanafiah Dwyliego septo wicaksono Fauziah Sh.
