The Development Trend of Rural Dwellings in the Central Plains of China Taking County X in H Province as an Example

Abstract

Rural dwellings in the Central Plains region hold an essential place in the history of ancient Chinese architecture, and the development of rural dwellings in this region plays a crucial role in the overall development of rural homes in China. Researchers have selected X county in Henan province, representative of the Central Plains region, as the subject of their investigation. They have categorized existing rural dwellings into three types based on their architectural forms and selected three villages, Y, P, and L, to represent the minority, majority, and the direction of new rural development practices in the Central Plains region. Through field investigations, the researchers have analyzed the layout, overall situation, and representative factors influencing the development of dwellings in these three villages and have classified and analyzed relevant graphical data. The aim of this research is to explore the commonalities of rural dwellings in the Central Plains region and to provide guidance for future rural development.
