This study draws on theoretical framework of Gibson's Affordance theory. The paper recommends training and retraining of teachers to equip them with requisite knowledge and skills to open up to the flexible use of multilingual-oriented pedagogy, for teachers and education stakeholders to create and sustain inclusive learning spaces that respect learners' linguistic backgrounds, and empowering learners to embrace their multilingual identities, through the use of their multilingual skills in various academic and social contexts to enhance learning and cherish their identities. The paper concludes that multilingual-oriented pedagogy will help create learning environment that embraces linguistic diversity that is not only crucial for promoting inclusion, but also prepares learners for success in an increasingly interconnected world. It is through this inclusive approach that classrooms can truly become spaces where learners thrive and flourish.</p> 2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Emmanuel Lucas Nwachukwu, Carolyn Lazarus, Chineme Asuzu, Gift Adaoma Ubani, Calvin Ronchen Wei https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ijaep/article/view/8862 Psikofarmaka Medications in Influencing Mental Activity and Behavior Through Selective Action on the Central Nervous System : Article Study 2024-04-20T07:27:44+00:00 Fendy Prasetyawan fendy.pra@gmail.com Achmad Wahdi fendy.pra@gmail.com Yuneka Saristiana fendy.pra@gmail.com Dewi Retno Puspitasari fendy.pra@gmail.com <p>Psychotropic drugs are pivotal in managing a spectrum of mental health disorders, operating by selectively modulating the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS serves as the primary target for psychotropic drugs, where they modulate neurotransmitter systems to regulate neural activity and influence behavior. Understanding the neurobiological mechanisms underlying these medications is crucial for enhancing treatment efficacy and minimizing adverse effects. Psychotropic medications encompass various classes, each with distinct mechanisms and clinical applications. While these drugs demonstrate therapeutic efficacy, challenges persist in achieving optimal treatment outcomes, including medication adherence and managing side effects. Regulations play a vital role in ensuring the safe and appropriate use of psychotropic drugs. They encompass monitoring prescription and dispensing practices, categorizing drugs based on their abuse potential, and emphasizing patient education and informed consent. By adhering to stringent regulations and promoting ethical prescribing practices, the healthcare system aims to mitigate the risks associated with psychotropic medications while maximizing their therapeutic benefits.</p> 2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Fendy Prasetyawan, Achmad Wahdi, Yuneka Saristiana, Dewi Retno Puspitasari https://journal.formosapublisher.org/index.php/ijaep/article/view/14250 The Psychological Impact of Floods on Mental Health and Well-being: A Sociological Investigation in District Hyderabad, Sindh Pakistan 2025-04-17T06:37:22+00:00 Shahnaz Bhutto Shahnaz.socio.95@gmail.com Wang Suyuhan Suyuhan@yahoo.com <table width="576"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="359"> <p>This study investigates the psychological impact of the 2022 floods in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan, employing a cross-sectional design with 500 flood-affected adults selected through stratified random sampling. Using validated scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5) and Likert-based questionnaires, we assessed mental health symptoms, coping mechanisms, and socioeconomic impacts. Results revealed alarming rates of depression (68%), anxiety (62%), and PTSD (55%), with women exhibiting significantly higher severity (depression: 4.5 vs. 3.9; anxiety: 4.3 vs. 3.7; PTSD: 4.1 vs. 3.5; p &lt; 0.05). While religious practices (64%) and social support (50%) were primary coping strategies, only 8% accessed professional counseling despite 72% expressing need. Socioeconomic devastation—property damage (82%), income loss (75%)—exacerbated distress, with inadequate government recovery efforts (12% satisfaction). The study underscores the urgent need for integrated mental health interventions (CBT, trauma therapy) combined with gender-sensitive poverty alleviation, addressing systemic gaps in Pakistan’s disaster response framework. These findings advocate for community-based, culturally adapted mental health services to break the poverty-mental illness cycle in flood-prone regions</p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> 2025-05-13T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Shahnaz Bhutto, Wang Suyuhan
