Abstract

When humans and the natural environment were introduced, they were very beautiful, humans and the natural environment helped each other, but when the first humans were expelled with God's permission, seeing this, natural environmental problems became critical, human greed and selfishness began to emerge. This arises when trying and overcoming it with the aim of causing an environmental disaster. This research aims to determine the extent to which the relationship between egocentrism and homocentrism is mediated through the principles of possibilism and biocentrism in the direction of ecotheology and the consequences of environmental ethics related to environmental damage. The technique used was through questionnaire answers to 50 housing residents in the West Jakarta area, the nature of the recording was qualitative. The research results show that 92% agree and an average of 84% of West Jakarta housing residents agree that the understanding of egocentrism, homocentrism mediated by the principle of possibilism with biocentrism in ecology and environmental ethics can reduce negative impacts on the biological environment. In the end, with high self-awareness in protecting the natural environment, everyone can protect and preserve the natural surroundings with good ecology and high environmental ethics.
