Analysis of Cultural Heritage Management by the Palembang City Culture Office

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the management of cultural heritage by the Department of Culture Palembang. It is necessary to examine how the cultural heritage management by the Department of Culture Palembang using the theory of management functions by George R. Terry consists of four dimensions including Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Based on the results of data analysis on each cultural heritage management activity by the Department of Culture Palembang, it has not run optimally. The advice that the author can give is that during the covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Culture Palembang must make online socialization and registration activities, so that the socialization and registration of cultural heritage activities can continue to be carried out, must accelerate the making of technical instructions for cultural heritage management activities and the Master Plan for Preservation of Cultural Heritage, and can prioritize the implementation of cultural heritage management activities because cultural heritage is a historical and cultural asset for the City of Palembang.
