Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of government spending on the human development index in North Sumatra. This research uses quantitative research methods, especially research in planning economics. This study uses secondary data with time series data types. Data taken during the period 2011-2021. This study uses data taken from 2011 to 2021 from the results of publications from the North Sumatra Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical method used to analyze the effect of government spending on the human development index uses a simple regression equation model with SPPS version 25 based on the data obtained. The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant influence of government spending on the human development index as evidenced by the value of t_count (10.304) > t_table (1.85955).
