Abstract

This exploration was conducted to examine the level of awareness and perception of individuals who are candidates for graduation for a bachelor's degree from the province of Lanao del Sur. A survey was conducted through a guided questionnaire to collect the insight of selected respondents to weigh their awareness and perception. This study aimed to assess the respondents' knowledge level of Islamic Banking after the creation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The study result showed that the respondents need integration on their journey of being a college students on Islamic Banking. The need for academic study among the respondents is highly recommended to the point that they are the successor of the present leader of BARMM. The study suggests a conception of an intervention program that will be conducted by other nations which are well-experienced in Islamic Banking.

Author Biography

Jawad Z. Salic, Mindanao State University, Marawi

JAWAD Z. SALIC is a Shari’ah Lawyer and a License Professional Teacher. He is currently taking Doctor of Public Administration (2023 - present) and holds the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy in Philippine Studies (2022), Master of Arts in Islamic Studies (2014), and Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies (2012), all from Mindanao State University – Marawi (Main Campus). Additionally, he holds the degrees Master of Arts in Education (2018) from Adiong Memorial Polytechnic State College, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (2016) from Philippine Engineering and Agro-Industrial College, Inc., and Certificate in Professional Teaching from Dansalan Polytechnic College.

 

He is a Thanawi graduate from Mahad Marawi Al-Islamia (2007) and attended a toril education from October 2009 to May 2010.

 

He holds the following TESDA courses with National Certification Level II (NC II) Accreditation: Carpentry, Computer System Servicing, Dressmaking, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Emergency medical services, Masonry and Tile Setting. Also, he is a holder of Trainer Methodology I.

 

Presently, he is an Assistant Professor at Mindanao State University - Marawi (Graduate Program Department, King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies).

 

His professional career includes the following: College Instructor, Philippine Engineering and Agro-Industrial College, Inc. (Civil Engineering Department) and Dansalan Polytechnic College, Inc. (Education Department); Radio Operator, Philippine National Police (Poona Bayabao Municipal Police Station); Lecturer, Insan Summer Remedial Class and Insan SASE Service Remedial Class; and Program Director, Kalumbayan Philippines, Inc.

He has authored academic articles and presented them at regional, national, and international conferences.
