Bekerja merupakan salah satu wujud tercapainya kesetaran gender bagi perempuan. Namun disisi lain peran perempuan sebagai pekerja juga menunjukkan adanya masalah atau kekurangan ekonomi dalam rumahtangga. Hal ini menunjukkan ibu sebenarnya juga memiliki peran dan tanggung jawab yang lebih besar dalam rumahtangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana ibu menjalankan peran dan tanggung jawabnya sebagai ibu menyusui sedangkan ia harus bekerja diluar rumah. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kualitatif grounded theory dengan jumlah partisipan 13 orang dengan metode wawancara mendalam yang dilakukan bulan Juni-juli 2022. Hasil penelitian bahwa adanya masalah ekonomi bekerja merupakan sebuah solusi dan ebagai bentuk dari kemandirian perempuan,. Namun hal ini memberikan dampak negatif yaitu terjadinya kelelahan, stress yang pada akhirnya menyebabkan ibu memberikan susu formula sebagai metode pemenuhan nutrisi pada bayinya
